Chapter 4B, the Discussion section, was an intensive process focused on interpreting the findings from Chapter 4A. The goal was to situate my results within the context of existing theories and prior research, highlighting how my study contributes to ongoing scholarly discourse. This chapter was about reiterating findings and making sense of them in a broader academic and practical framework.
Throughout this chapter, I emphasized the connection between my results and the research questions while critically analyzing how they aligned with or diverged from previous studies. In instances where my findings supported existing literature, I highlighted how they reinforced established theories. Conversely, when my results differed, I explored possible reasons for these deviations, thus contributing new perspectives to the field.
A gratifying aspect was identifying unexpected results that offered new insights. These findings led me to consider alternative theoretical interpretations, suggesting potential areas for further exploration. This reinforced the dynamic nature of research, where new data can challenge or extend existing theories.
A key focus was translating the implications of my findings into practical applications.
